About The Position

Worcester Eisenbrandt (WEI), a historic restoration construction company, is seeking an experienced Drywall Finisher to work in Lexington, Virginia. This is a full-time position offering competitive pay and a full benefits package, including health, dental, vision, and paid time off.

Requirements

Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a drywall finisher.
Good knowledge of the tools, materials, and methods used in drywall and ceiling finishing
Attention to detail
Accuracy with measurements
Perform physically demanding work, including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
Ability to perform coordinated hand and arm movements to assemble, manipulate, or grasp objects.
Ability to exert muscle force repeatedly or continuously.
Ability to lift heavy materials and work on ladders or scaffolding
Must be able to lift and carry 70 lbs
Able to work independently and in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings is a plus
Experience working on historic properties is a plus.

Responsibilities

Measure, cut, and fit drywall panels as needed
Apply tape, joint compound, and finishing materials to seams and joints
Match existing textures and finishes when performing repairs
Repair cracks, holes, and damaged drywall surfaces
Concealing any imperfections or exposed irregularities in the drywall surface.
Layering plaster or spackle with trowels to create a flat surface
Sanding down rough areas on the wall to create a smooth surface
Skimming the surface with a final layer of plaster in preparation for finishing work.
