About The Position

The Drywall Estimator plans and manages estimating activities for construction projects, including preparing, interpreting, and presenting estimates. The role leads one or more estimates, budgets, or pursuits while supporting other estimating pursuits, and mentors estimating staff. It also supports jobsite staff and post-bid buyouts, as applicable.

Requirements

Degree in engineering, construction management, or architecture, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 3 years of estimating or related experience.
Ability to read and understand specifications, drawings, and BIM models.
Ability to make accurate judgments and calculate associated risks.
Ability to use estimating software such as Excel, Bluebeam, Revit, and Destini, or other programs needed for daily duties.
Working knowledge of current construction costs and principles.

Responsibilities

Lead one or more estimates, budgets, or pursuits and support other estimating pursuits.
Mentor estimating staff and train and develop interns and interim project engineers.
Diagnose errors, scope, and exclusions in subcontractor estimates.
Prepare and review quantity takeoffs.
Maintain historical cost information.
Prepare customized subcontractor bidder lists and maintain relationships with trade partners.
Support jobsite staff with estimating.
Prepare quantity takeoffs, material pricing, and conceptual estimates.
Lead or participate in bid-day compilation.
Review plans and specifications.
Prepare high-level value engineering/value management logs.
Follow bid schedules and manage deliverable dates using the Estimate Checklist.
Build consensus on fee strategy.
Review subcontractor prequalification for prospective trade partners.
Draft and coordinate General Conditions and General Requirements with the Operations team.
Generate scope sheets for all CSI divisions.
Set up and conduct go/no-go reviews for company self-perform trades.
Support and train estimating staff, as applicable.
Support post-bid buyouts, as applicable.
Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
