About The Position

NOVO Health Services offers linen management solutions to the healthcare industry, focusing on safety and infection control. They provide partner hospitals with a value-driven linen management control system that measures and monitors linen utilization by department to eliminate excess internal costs. NOVO's regional healthcare linen facilities are HLAC accredited and operate with state-of-the-art processing equipment and processes. This role is for a Production Associate/Dryfold Worker at their Madison, TN Healthcare Laundry facility. The ideal candidate is confident in decision making, can act quickly, and has excellent communication skills, with a commitment to measurable performance and continuous improvements.

Requirements

  • Previous production experience with quality orientation preferred.
  • High School Education, GED, and formal education/training preferred.
  • Good analytical skills to be able to determine the number of carts required for orders.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in manufacturing, production, or service industry.
  • Ability to work in a noisy fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach, and stack individual items from the machine for long periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to push or pull a cart that may weigh 100 pounds.
  • Demonstrated customer service and organization skills.
  • Confident in decision making.
  • Ability to act quickly.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks in production function areas in accordance with Novo Health Services Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Hand fold, stack, and place items from washer or ironer onto appropriate carts.
  • Remove product from previous processes and identify how many items per stack based on job knowledge.
  • Adjust carts to a comfortable waist level for folding.
  • Perform group folding for larger items with a partner.
  • Run clean product through the ironer, catch it, and count it for folding or the next stage of production.
  • Bend down and lift flat sheets and blankets from baskets or feed tables, and feed them into the spreader and then the ironer.
  • Catch items coming out of the ironer, inspect for quality, stack, and place in a cart.
  • Load various types of linen items according to individual client orders, in proper order and to the correct cart prior to delivery.
  • Identify the various lines of linen products the company offers and their respective functions.
  • Build bulk carts by filling them with individual linen products.
  • Read individual customer tickets and ensure the proper product and count is loaded into the cart.
  • Weigh carts in/out and enter data into a computer program.
  • Use a hand-held electronic scanner.
  • Adhere to all quality standards associated with different tasks.
  • Understand, observe, and adhere to all Novo Health Services safety procedures and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Assist in any other areas as directed by team leader or management.
  • Perform other duties as required.
