About The Position

Micron Technology is seeking a Dry Mechanical Development Engineer to lead and coordinate third-party development of dry mechanical systems—including process exhaust, HVAC, make-up air handling units, and cleanroom systems—for semiconductor manufacturing facilities. In this role, you will ensure that external engineering work meets Micron’s technical, performance, and regulatory requirements while supporting design, construction, and commissioning activities across the global manufacturing network. Additionally, you will leverage and learn about various artificial intelligence tools and resources to maximize efficiency and uphold the highest standards for both processes and products. While you may not exhibit all of the characteristics/skills listed below today, we are highly interested in a team member who is anxious to grow in both technical breadth and depth. If you are open to learning from and being a valued member of a team of seasoned engineers, we are eager to help build on your existing foundation and expand your individual and collaborative skills in this exciting and unique opportunity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in dry mechanical engineering, including at least 2 years coordinating third‑party HVAC, clean‑room, or process exhaust designs.
  • Expertise in dry mechanical system development for high‑tech or industrial facilities.
  • Working knowledge of AHRI, SMACNA, IMC, and ASHRAE standards.
  • Proficiency reviewing P&IDs, 3D models, and specifications using AutoCAD, Revit, or Navisworks.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience coordinating third‑party designs for semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or data‑center environments.
  • Understanding of energy‑efficient design practices and IECC compliance.
  • Experience with control systems such as PLC or SCADA and BIM workflows.
  • Familiarity with clash detection and cross‑discipline build integration using BIM tools.
  • Professional certifications such as PE, LEED AP, or CPD.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate third‑party engineering firms developing dry mechanical systems such as process exhaust, abatement equipment, HVAC, and clean‑room systems.
  • Review P&IDs, system layouts, equipment specifications, and related documentation to ensure compliance with Micron standards.
  • Conduct technical evaluations of system performance, including flow, pressure, thermal efficiency, and reliability metrics.
  • Perform quality assurance and risk assessments to identify constructability, compliance, or performance issues.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external vendors, and contractors to ensure seamless system integration using BIM tools.
  • Support commissioning, equipment validation, and system startup activities.
  • Ensure all systems meet applicable safety, environmental, and mechanical codes (OSHA, EPA, IMC, IFC).

Benefits

  • Choice of medical, dental and vision plans
  • Benefit programs that help protect your income if you are unable to work due to illness or injury
  • Paid family leave
  • Robust paid time-off program
