About The Position
This position involves leading the Drumline, a specialized group within the Marching Vikings Band. Preparation begins with a week-long Drumline Camp and a week-long Band camp in August, followed by practices twice a week from August through October. The Drumline performs at various events including football games, the Homecoming Pep Assembly, the Hidden Gem Marathon, and the Homewood Memorial Parade. Opportunities exist for collaboration with Hart and Parker Band members during the Youth Night football game, where students are paired with Homewood-Flossmoor High Community High School students for a combined rehearsal and performance experience.
Requirements
- Ability to attend a week-long Drumline Camp and a week-long Band camp in August.
- Availability to practice twice a week from August through October.
- Willingness to perform at football games, Homecoming Pep Assembly, Hidden Gem Marathon, and Homewood Memorial Parade.
- Ability to facilitate collaboration with external band members.
