Requirements

  • Operation of a forklift truck
  • All jobs require some type of locomotion and repeated movement, especially repetitive motion of arms, wrists and hands, repeated bending and twisting.
  • Drums weigh up to 78 pounds; continuously lifting and stacking up to 3 high every 4.5 seconds.
  • Constant reaching above shoulders; both hands required; both legs required; working at a fast pace.
  • Operation of a forklift truck.
  • Ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously.
  • Physical stamina to stand, lift and for extended periods of time.
  • Dust, fumes, smoke or gases; solvents; grease & oils; paints & inks.
  • Work in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat
  • Work safely in accordance with Greif’s safety rules, regulations, and requirements.
  • Typically possesses less than 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Good physical stamina and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to work with a team in a fast pace environment.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Solution oriented problem solver.

Responsibilities

  • Operate Telescoping Boom Conveyor to load and stack drums into trucks and trailers in a prescribed manner to minimize damage.
  • Receive instructions from Quality Coordinator / Supervisor as to the schedule of the loading requirements of the containers to be shipped.
  • Remove debris and other materials from the truck/trailer and/or railroad car to prepare for loading; inform Coordinator of unsuitable vehicle for loading.
  • Operate and position telescoping boom conveyor properly to facilitate safe and damage free loading of drums into trailers as reqiured;; operate palletizer as and when required .
  • Manually load and unload drums into and from trailers
  • Transport lumber, paper, skids, containers, etc. to and from trailers and storage area as required.
  • Stack containers and ancillary parts on and off the conveyor as directed.
  • Perform production, labor and other reporting as required.
  • Notify Quality coordinator/ Supervisor of any equipment or material irregularities.
  • Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly.
  • Other duties as assigned.
