About The Position

Merakey is seeking a Drug and Alcohol Counselor for the Parkside Recovery Program in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Counselor provides clinical services, including individual and group therapy, care coordination, and compliant documentation. The role supports client engagement and recovery through treatment planning and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.

The position is onsite, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and pays $24.66 per hour.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, psychology, addictions studies, social work, or a related field with a specialty or concentration in counseling.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in a health or human service agency and in a drug and alcohol setting is preferred.
• Experience with MAT and MMT is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group therapy.
• Assess client needs and readiness for change; engage, motivate, and re-engage resistant or disengaged clients.
• Maintain an active caseload and track treatment progress.
• Complete timely, accurate documentation and incident reports, and meet productivity standards.
• Collaborate with case managers and multidisciplinary team members to support client needs and facilitate referrals and community linkages.
• Adhere to ethical, confidentiality, and regulatory requirements and follow organizational policies.
• Participate in supervision, trainings, and quality improvement activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
