About The Position

Sojourner House is seeking a compassionate, skilled Full-Time Therapist to join our multidisciplinary treatment team serving women and their children in a residential substance use disorder treatment program. This is an opportunity for a clinician who enjoys meaningful, relationship-based work and wants to support women as they build stability, strengthen their families, and move forward in recovery. Our therapists provide individual and group counseling, clinical assessment, treatment planning, care coordination, and ongoing support within a collaborative residential treatment environment.

Requirements

  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Chemical Dependency, Nursing with an appropriate clinical specialty, or a related human-services field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, mental health, or related human services.
  • Knowledge of substance use disorders, recovery, trauma, maternal addiction, and behavioral health treatment.
  • Ability to complete assessments, develop treatment plans, provide individual and group counseling, and coordinate appropriate referrals.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organization, documentation, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Cultural humility and the ability to work respectfully with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with applicable HIPAA and substance use disorder confidentiality requirements.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to transport residents in an agency vehicle, including a 12-passenger van, when needed.
  • Ability to obtain required Act 33/34 and FBI clearances following a contingent offer of employment.
  • Successful completion of required pre-employment clearances and screenings.
  • Annual TB testing as required, with applicable employer reimbursement.
  • Completion of required organizational and regulatory training following hire.
  • Compliance with Sojourner House safety, confidentiality, and Drug-Free Workplace policies.

Nice To Haves

  • Pennsylvania LSW, LCSW, LPC, or other applicable clinical credential.
  • Certification or specialized experience in substance use disorder treatment.
  • Familiarity with ASAM criteria, DDAP regulations, trauma-informed care, and residential treatment.
  • Experience working with women, families, or individuals involved with child welfare or family court systems.

Responsibilities

  • Complete clinical and diagnostic assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide individual counseling based on each client's treatment needs and goals.
  • Facilitate therapeutic, educational, and support groups.
  • Regularly review client progress and update treatment plans.
  • Utilize DDAP and ASAM criteria to support appropriate levels of care and treatment recommendations.
  • Provide clinical case management and coordinate referrals to mental health, medical, behavioral health, and community-based services.
  • Support clients navigating systems such as CYF, Family Court, healthcare, and other community resources.
  • Complete utilization reviews and required clinical documentation in a timely manner.
  • Work collaboratively with clinical, direct-care, medical, and program staff to provide coordinated, trauma-informed care.
  • Build positive working relationships with community providers and referral partners.
  • Maintain compliance with licensing, credentialing, documentation, confidentiality, and quality-assurance requirements.
