About The Position

This is a 12-hour position that rotates on a Continental rotation. The position pay range is $18.55 to $20.74. The employer reserves the right to change or assign other duties to this position. The role requires operating within the Blommer core values of respect and care for others. It involves preparing boxes for the production line, loading finished product, visually inspecting it, ensuring proper weight, and sealing containers. The position also requires maintaining a clean work area, ensuring critical control point compliance, and collaborating with co-workers. Employees will rotate into other production areas and perform additional duties as needed, including tasks during downtime.

Requirements

  • Able to follow clear instructions
  • Able to read and write English to perform tasks successfully
  • Basic technology skills to record data into computer or electronic tablet
  • Continuous attention to details in performing all tasks
  • Comfortable working as an individual contributor as well as with a team, as required
  • Expected to identify, communicate/escalate and problem-solve as issues arise
  • Able to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for prolonged periods of time
  • Able to set up, adjust and operate machinery
  • Regularly required to bend, stoop, and reach
  • Able to observe and detect issues
  • Occasionally ascend/descend stairs
  • Occasionally move materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a repetitive basis
  • Constantly operate within a manufacturing product environment - daily exposure to noise, dust and variation in temperature (hot/cold)
  • Operate with a focus on safety and quality, while maintaining a sanitary work environment
  • Comply with Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA), & Lockout/Tagout requirements
  • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure that products are consistently produced and controlled according to quality standards
  • Adhere to HACCP guidelines
  • Adhere to Allergen Management best practice for food manufacturers
  • Comply with workplace uniform requirements and safety gear
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures and code of conduct

Responsibilities

  • Prepare boxes for production line: record empty weight, add liner, stamp product line, affix product labels
  • Load finished product off the production line and visually inspect to ensure appearance is appropriate for the product
  • Ensure scale is working and container is filling to proper weight, seal containers and load onto pallet. If appropriate, wrap completed pallet for shipping
  • Report any defective materials, missing or damaged tools to the Supervisor
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
  • Ensure critical control point compliance documenting US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) & Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) results, magnet cleaning, downtime, waste generation; Report any non-conformities
  • Rotate into other production areas and perform additional duties where resources may be needed
  • Collaborate with co-workers on the plant floor throughout production cycle
  • Pick up other tasks that may be needed during downtime (maintaining clean work areas, etc.)
  • Operate within the Blommer core values of respect and care for others
  • Able to work 12 hour shifts, 2 weeks of days, 2 weeks of nights
