About The Position

AAA Driving School is hiring a full-time Driving School Instructor to teach students of varying ages and experience levels. The organization provides training and support for new instructors and welcomes licensed professionals. The instructor helps students develop safe driving habits through positive, professional instruction using AAA’s curriculum and training standards. The role is scheduled for 40 hours per week. Weekday shifts start between 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. and are eight hours long. The schedule also requires at least one weekend day, with shifts starting as early as 7:00 a.m. and lasting eight hours. The instructor travels within a 50-mile radius as needed. A company vehicle is provided, with fuel, maintenance, and insurance covered. Paid licensing and training are provided, along with growth and advancement opportunities.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
At least 5 years of driving experience.
Must obtain a state-issued Driving School Instructor license, including passing a DMV-required physical exam.
Must successfully complete a background check and drug screening.
Experience in driving instruction, education, or the automotive industry.
Confidence working with the public, especially teens.
Strong commitment to promoting safe driving habits.
Flexibility to accommodate student schedules, including weekday afternoons and at least one weekend day.
Ability to sit for extended periods; hear and see in all weather conditions; bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and lift up to 25 pounds.
Must be capable of safely assuming control of the vehicle from the passenger seat during instruction or emergency situations.

Responsibilities

Deliver behind-the-wheel instruction to students of varying ages and experience levels, following AAA’s curriculum and training standards.
Use driving school software to track and manage student progress.
Assess student performance and provide personalized guidance.
Stay current on safe and defensive driving practices and maintain required state documentation.
Travel within a 50-mile radius as needed.
Safely assume control of the vehicle from the passenger seat during instruction or emergencies.
