About The Position

Responsible for transporting clients to and from Nexus, including medical appointments, court appearances, CPS visits, and other approved activities, as needed. This position ensures timely pickups and drop offs. The driver maintains transportation logs, follows agency policies, and communicates effectively with staff regarding scheduling and client needs.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Minimum 1-2 years of professional driving experience preferred, but not required.
Safe driving practices: follows traffic laws and maintain a clean driving record.
Consistently arrives on time and adheres to transportation schedule(s).
Confidentiality: understands and protects client privacy.
Crisis awareness: recognizes signs and symptoms of distress, escalation, or impairment and promptly notifies appropriate staff.
Documentation: accurately completes transportation logs, mileage reports, vehicle inspections, and incident documentation, as needed.
A valid Texas driver’s license and a clean driving record
Respects confidentiality always.
Follows HIPAA and CFR 42 guidelines for disclosing information.
Adheres to the agency’s compliance plan, code of conduct, and the Nexus policies & procedures.
Treats all clients, visitors, and co-workers with dignity and respect.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to conduct instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to solve practical problems involving a variety of concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to perform assigned duties and responsibilities with neatness, accuracy, and a degree of excellence, promptly.
Ability to work at the maximum capacity of all required expectations.
As a condition of continued employment, you are responsible for obtaining and maintaining all training required to stay in compliance with state licensure rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

Provides safe transportation for clients to and from scheduled and/or unscheduled appointments off site, as needed.
Ensures van interiors are kept clean.
Ensures vans have gas for other drivers.
Performs vehicle safety checks and reports any maintenance needs or concerns to their direct supervisor and to the Director of Operations.
Maintains all vans by taking them to be cleaned regularly and/or serviced as needed.
Pick up medications or other items as needed.
Upon arriving on shift, coordinate with the RA2 and review the transportation log for the day.
