About The Position

The purpose of the Driver is to operate company vehicles to deliver product in a safe and timely manner. This role involves delivering specified product to various locations by driving short and long distances during the day, coordinating with management for efficient routes, and verifying correct product delivery with customers. The Driver will also perform loading and unloading of the truck, maintain required certifications, and ensure accurate completion of all necessary paperwork, including shipping and Hazmat documents. Additionally, the Driver is responsible for performing pre- and post-trip truck inspections, maintaining truck maintenance records, and reporting any safety issues with company vehicles. Support to Warehouse Associates and participation in after-hours training classes are also part of the role. Overtime may be assigned, and the ability to work cooperatively with others and comply with company policies is essential.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Hazmat endorsement, as needed
  • 1 year of delivery truck driving experience
  • 1 year of forklift and warehouse experience
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Maintain a satisfactory driving record as determined by Company Driver Policies
  • Qualify for and remain insurable under Company liability insurance policies
  • Meet federal and state requirements to operate the vehicle

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of customer service experience, preferred
  • Proficiency in computer and inventory systems, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Deliver specified product to various locations in a safe and efficient manner by driving short and long distances during the day
  • Coordinate with management to ensure safe and efficient delivery routes
  • Verify with the customer at the time of delivery that the correct product was delivered in satisfactory condition
  • Perform loading and unloading of the truck as needed
  • Maintain all required certifications required by DOT, OSHA, and company safety programs
  • Ensure all required paperwork, including but not limited to shipping papers and Hazmat paperwork, is accurately completed and in possession
  • Perform pre- and post-trip truck inspections
  • Maintain truck maintenance records
  • Notify management of any safety issues with company vehicles
  • Provide support to Warehouse Associates
  • Participate in after-hours training classes
  • Work overtime as assigned
  • Work cooperatively with others
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures
