About The Position

The duties and responsibilities of the Driver include driving residents to and from scheduled appointments using a company van, car, and/or bus. This role requires compassion for and a desire to work with seniors. The driver will manage their time and location to accommodate resident appointments and work with other drivers and the System Coordinator to maximize efficiency in transportation services. Maintaining vehicles, including documents, fluids, filters, tires, brakes, windshield wipers, and safety devices, as well as lifts and straps used to secure residents and wheelchairs, is a key responsibility. The driver must report all vehicle damage and deficiencies to the Systems Coordinator or supervisor. Communication with residents, medical and office personnel, and the general public regarding transportation needs and requirements is essential. The role also involves keeping up-to-date on all required and in-service training, maintaining confidentiality and privacy of community/resident records, and communicating with dignity and respect. Routinely checking the schedule for possible changes and fostering teamwork with co-workers are also expected. Requirements

  • Compassion for and desire to work with seniors!
  • 6 months preferred with no more than one moving violation within the last 3 years.
  • Valid Driver's license
  • CDL, where applicable.
  • Demonstrates the ability to perform generally acceptable driving maneuvers applicable to the respective vehicles used.
  • Requires regular, predictable attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary driver for whatever transportation is needed.
