About The Position

The driver safely transports children and families to various appointments from varied locations statewide. This role requires adherence to state driving laws and regulations, effective use of electronic devices for navigation and trip assignments, and a focus on cost reduction and efficient vehicle usage. The driver is also responsible for monitoring vehicle maintenance and reporting incidents as required.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • CPR/First Aid
  • NARCAN Training
  • Ukeru
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Must pass a drug screen, MVR, KBI, Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry Clearance check and an Adult Registry check.
  • FBI Fingerprint check.
  • Lifting requirements of 50 lbs.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record and reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer two years’ experience working with children and families and/or transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Safely transports children and families to various appointments from varied locations statewide.
  • Maintains open line of communication with transportation, office staff, and case team.
  • Completes Trip Requests and Medication Communication for child/youth when required.
  • Performs job tasks according to professional, organizational, and legal standards.
  • Completes written or electronic documentation in a concise, professional, and timely manner.
  • Assures children have all necessary belongings and medications when transported.
  • Follows and adheres to state driving laws and regulations.
  • Effectively uses electronic devices and systems that provide trip assignments, navigation, apps, and weather satellite usage.
  • Assists with vehicle movement as needed, along with equipment installs/removals.
  • Focuses on reduction of costs and deadhead miles.
  • Responsible for monitoring assigned vehicle maintenance and assisting with scheduling service, as needed.
  • Works a flexible schedule, including 50% of weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Travels daily throughout the State.
  • Immediately reports significant/unusual incidents to Supervisor for processing with Risk Management, clinical, and safety channels.
  • Reports critical incidents to DCF verbally within 12 hours, written within 24 hours.
  • Implements Saint Francis Ministries policies and follows directives as required.
  • Follows and adheres to all pertinent Saint Francis Ministries Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), rules, personnel policies, and procedures; related accreditation and licensure standards; and federal, state and local rules, statutes, regulations, and contractual terms.
  • Is knowledgeable of and follows all safety procedures.
  • Ensures clients’ rights are protected.
  • Other duties as assigned.
