About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class NON CDL Truck Driver in Louisville, KY — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about. This position involves delivering SOLO within a 300-mile radius of Louisville, operating a Straight Truck 26' with Manual Pallet Jack and Forklift equipment. Freight is touch freight, specifically Glass Shower Doors, and drivers may cover other accounts when needed. Trucks are 36 months or newer and include 24/7 Roadside Maintenance and company drivers fuel up at over 800 Maintenance Facilities Nationwide. The schedule is Monday – Friday, with a start time of 5:00 am, and NO WEEKENDS.

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Minimum of 6 months of verifiable driving experience
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Must have verifiable driving experience (must be in like equipment if position being applied for is operating a straight truck or box truck): 6 Months experience in the past 3 years, OR 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Responsibilities

• Safely driving a vehicle within and requires compliance with safety regulations, continuous training and customer service.
• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
• Maintaining accurate records
• Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
• Other tasks as assigned
