About The Position

Stone Bridge Center for Health & Rehabilitation is seeking a part-time Driver to provide safe transportation for residents to medical appointments, outings, and other destinations. This role is crucial for ensuring residents receive necessary care and maintain their well-being. The ideal candidate will have a friendly demeanor, a reliable service record, and a passion for helping others. Requirements

  • Current driver’s license and excellent driving record is required
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • Excellent driving skills and knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations
  • Compassion, patience, and empathy in working with seniors
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in patient transportation or a similar role preferred

Responsibilities

  • Safely drives residents to medical appointments, outings, and other destinations according to assigned schedule
  • Adheres to traffic laws, regulations, and facility policies to ensure the safety of passengers and others on the road
  • Assists residents into and out of vehicle
  • Secures passengers’ wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs while driving
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to coordinate transportation schedules and ensure resident needs are met
  • Communicates with administrative staff regularly to receive instructions or report delays and disruptions of service
  • Maintains the cleanliness and safety of the vehicle, performing routine inspections, refueling and immediately reporting maintenance needs
  • Keeps records of trips and behavior of passengers
