About The Position

This is a part-time driver position responsible for safely transporting clients to and from appointments. The role involves assisting clients with boarding and alighting the vehicle, communicating pick-up and drop-off times, completing trip documentation, and performing vehicle inspections and maintenance. The driver must adhere to all transportation laws and company policies, maintaining a safe driving record and a clean vehicle.

Requirements

• High School diploma or a GED state certification
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Minimum of three (3) years driving experience
• Up to three months of work-related experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• Clean driving record and criminal history
• Current valid Georgia driver’s license with less than 6 points against their license
• Motor Vehicle Report is required upon hire and reviewed annually.
• Maintains a current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS). If BLS verification is not current upon hire, it must be obtained within three (3) months of hire.
• Defensive Driving Course Required

Responsibilities

• Assist clients into getting onto the vehicle and safely inside of their respective destination by following all safety guidelines
• Communicates with the client regarding estimated pick-up and drop-off times
• Responsible for completing trip summary documentation prior to the end of shift
• Report any and all incidents or accidents to the supervisor
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspection on assigned vehicle to ensure they are in good working order and maintain vehicle cleanliness
• Ability to operate wheelchair lift
• Abides by all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record
• Responsible for safely transporting clients to and from appointments utilizing company vehicle in a professional manner
• Operate vehicle in a safe manner to include parting the vehicle and pulling into/out of temporary loading/unloading areas
• Maintains vehicle service (tires, oil, gas, etc.)
• Adheres to established CRHS and departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control.
• Performs other related job duties as assigned.
