About The Position

This position requires the driver to report to work on time at 5 a.m. and work until route completion. There is no definite quitting time, and overtime may be required while complying with FMCSA hours of service regulations. The driver will complete deliveries to pre-assigned customers daily, and routes are subject to change. Responsibilities include conducting pre/post-trip inspections, applying safety techniques during loading/unloading, and securing the vehicle. Drivers must observe traffic laws, drive cautiously, verify accurate product delivery and payment (no cash accepted), and provide outstanding customer service. Basic mathematical skills are needed for invoice calculations, and communication with dispatch and supervisors is essential for delivery status and issue reporting. The role involves heavy lifting, carrying product cases, and various physical activities such as sitting, standing, driving, walking, carrying, pushing/pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching. Deliveries will be made in all weather conditions unless deemed unsafe by management.

Requirements

  • Must be able to report to work on time 5a.m. and work until route completion, there is no definite quitting time and must be able to work overtime when needed (while complying with FMCSA hours of service regulations).
  • Position will require heavy lifting, carrying cases of product alone and with aid of a hand truck.
  • Position will require sitting, standing, driving, walking, carrying, pushing/pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and reaching.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Must have at least 1 year prior delivery/driving experience with box truck or larger type vehicle.
  • Must have and be able to maintain valid DOT Medical Certification.
  • Must have and be able to maintain valid Driver’s License.
  • Must be able to pass background check (i.e. police backgrounds, reference checks….).
  • Must have acceptable Motor Vehicle Record: Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record: Cannot have more than two (2): moving violations and/or at-fault vehicle accidents (any combination) in the past three (3) years (for speeding, violations must be under 16mph).
  • Cannot have more than one (1): speeding violation of 16-29mph OR at-fault accident in the past three (3) years.
  • Cannot have a major violation such as: DUI/DWI, hit-and-run, reckless driving, and/or super speeder (29+mph) violation in the past five (5) years.

Responsibilities

  • Complete deliveries to pre-assigned customers on a daily basis.
  • Conduct pre/post trip inspections and properly log any defects.
  • Apply proper safety techniques while climbing in/out of box truck and loading/unloading cases of product (with and/or without ramp) from the back of the delivery truck.
  • Down stack load throughout the day utilizing load bar and secure vehicle at all times.
  • Observe all federal and state traffic laws and drive with caution to avoid causing breakage and shifting merchandise.
  • Verify accurate product is delivered to the appropriate recipient.
  • Verify accurate funds are received at the time of delivery (drivers will not accept cash).
  • Provide outstanding customer service and maintain professional business relationship with customers.
  • Apply basic mathematical skills to calculate changes to invoices.
  • Communicate with dispatch and supervisors to provide delivery status information and if any issues arise.
  • Deliver in all weather conditions unless deemed unsafe by company management.
