About The Position

Easterseals New Jersey has been dedicated to addressing the evolving needs of individuals with disabilities and their families since 1948. Our mental health services offer support for daily living and community-based programs designed to impart essential life skills through instruction and practical application.

Requirements

Possess a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
One year of experience as a licensed operator of motor vehicles.
Thorough knowledge of the proper methods of operating the assigned vehicle.
Effective verbal and written communication utilizing the English language.
Must have a valid driver's license and be subject to post-offer verification of driving eligibility consistent with company insurance requirements.

High school or the equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

Operates and maintains a bus or minivan for transporting individuals with disabilities to their destinations.
Assists with loading and unloading of persons receiving services, including lifting individuals with severe physical disabilities if necessary.
Completes required documentation such as mileage and maintenance logs, and vehicle checks.
Performs minor vehicle adjustments and repairs, including tire maintenance, and replenishing fluids.
Ensures the vehicle is kept in clean, safe, and operational condition.
Conducts periodic safety checks of the vehicle's brakes, tires, exhaust system, lights, and other equipment.
Performs other duties as assigned.
