About The Position

Friends of Switchpoint is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving individuals, families, and veterans experiencing poverty and homelessness in Utah since 2014. The Driver is responsible for providing transportation to the residents of the facility, working in tandem with the Program Director and Manager to ensure approved transportation. This role requires maintaining a log of transported residents and destinations, possessing a clean driving record, and providing excellent customer service to residents.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid UT Drivers license.
  • Must have a clean driving record
  • 1+ years of customer service
  • Ability to de-escalate

Nice To Haves

  • human services experience a plus
  • Experience in working with those who struggle with mental health and homelessness is a plus.
  • Familiarity with common vehicle maintenance is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and implement Switchpoint’s mission and values, and adhere to the Staff Code of Conduct and policies and procedures
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all residents of the facility.
  • Keep a daily log of occurrences that happen during transportations.
  • Inspect vehicle’s daily - update Finance and Maintenance of any repairs needed.
  • Actively listen to the needs of the residents and act to meet those needs reasonably and appropriately.
  • Track mileage of the vehicles
  • Keep gas receipts and promptly turn them into the finance department.
  • Report any resident concerns to the Director/Manager and/or appropriate department leadership team.
  • Demonstrate a passion for customer service as evidenced by interaction with co-workers, residents, and members of the community.
  • Keep vehicles clean inside and out.
  • May be required to lift up to 50lbs periodically as needed.
  • May be required to pick up/drop off supplies.
  • Coordinate with other Switchpoint facilities as needed.
  • Consistently communicate with the program staff on any resident concerns.
  • Communicate with community partners as needed.
