About The Position

The Driver is a key member of CityTeam in the Neighborhood. You will regularly interact with donors, volunteers, guests, and staff. It is important that our Driver provides outstanding customer service, has good project management skills, and has a heart for service. The Driver will roll up sleeves and chip in wherever and however needed to support our food programs. We work in a fast-paced, highly unpredictable atmosphere with limited resources. Our ideal candidate will be able to function well under pressure and handle difficult situations with grace. You will need to be flexible and able to work independently and collaboratively. In addition to following directions, our Driver will need to be able to take initiative and communicate effectively. If you are looking for a hands-on ministry involving both facilities and people, this may be the position for you. The Driver is a full-time non-exempt position wrapped up in a Christian environment that values Teamwork, Accountability, Humility, Innovation, and Joy.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 21 years of age or older
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean record
  • No DUI in the past 10-years
  • Must have an intimate, personal relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Must be active in a local Christian body of believers or at least pursuing community with other Christ-followers
  • Must have compatible theology on major issues of CityTeam's Statement of Faith
  • Must be committed to serving God and the body of Christ

Nice To Haves

  • Customer Service experience
  • Prior truck driving experience

Responsibilities

  • Graciously pick-up food donations in a timely manner.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order of trucks, equipment, and supplies required to perform job and report any maintenance needed.
  • Operate all equipment in a safe manner (forklift, pallet jack, box truck, etc.)
  • Communicate effectively with people from a wide variety of socioeconomic, education, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Oversee the handling of donations as assigned and report to the Food Program Supervisor. This includes, but is not limited to: Weighing and documenting all Philabundance Grocer’s Against Hunger Donations. Overseeing the proper receiving, processing, and storing of donated goods
  • Other duties and special projects as needed.
