About The Position

Advance Auto Parts is seeking a Driver to join their team. This role involves picking, staging, and safely delivering parts to professional customers, as well as picking up returns and cores. The Driver will also be responsible for distributing sales flyers, promoting current sales and loyalty programs, and collecting credit accounts. A key aspect of the role is building and maintaining relationships with MainStreet and National Pro customers, providing insights gained during deliveries. The Driver will also assist in upselling and cross-selling products to increase average transaction value. Additionally, the position requires maintaining store cleanliness, general stocking duties including truck stocking, back stock, and cycle counts, and staying knowledgeable about product inventory and new arrivals to aid in sales. Engaging with walk-in customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate parts or services is also part of the job, along with performing other assigned duties.

  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs and procedure manuals
  • Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings and weekends as needed
  • Confidence in engaging customers and promoting products
  • Willing to learn about new products and sales techniques
  • Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting and parking lot
  • General stocking including truck stocking, back stock and cycle counts
  • Maintain knowledge of product inventory and new arrivals to assist with sales
  • Engage with walk-in customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate parts or services
  • Other duties as assigned
