About The Position

Wheeler Mission Ministries is a privately funded 501(c)3 non-profit, evangelical Christian ministry whose designated purpose is religious. We are a Christ-centered ministry which is dedicated to sharing the Gospel and helping those experiencing homelessness and those in need. Wheeler Mission Ministries considers every position one of ministry and a vital and valued part of our team. Employees are encouraged and expected to share the Gospel as opportunities arise. The Donation Center (DC) Driver will pick-up donations from Wheeler drop-off sites and donors' homes. They must be able to track all pick-ups and deliveries accurately and interact with donors in a courteous, professional, and Christian manner.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or HSE
  • Verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with others.
  • Ability to learn how to manage time in payroll software

  • Kneel, stoop, twist, and bend-over frequently during the shift
  • Hold and grasp donated objects when loading and unloading donations.
  • Physical ability to perform normal office functions including sitting for prolonged periods of time and the endurance to remain standing for prolonged periods of time
  • Frequently lift and carry donations up to 50 pounds.
  • Perform manual labor indoors and outdoors.
  • A valid Indiana state-issued driver’s license
  • Be insurable through Wheeler Mission’s provider.
  • Conflict of Interest Policy, Confidentiality Policy, and Statement of Faith
  • Post-offer acceptable background check required for all positions.
  • Sign and adhere to WM Drugs and Alcohol policy and remain free from addiction to drugs or alcohol.
  • Submit to and pass a drug and/or alcohol test.

  • Occasionally supervise groups of volunteers at the donation center.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers for donation drop-off and assist with the unloading of donations.
  • Provide instructions for tax forms.
  • Offer assistance to donors as needed.
  • Work effectively in a team environment with coworkers and volunteer groups.
  • Maintain a safe and organized warehouse by following instructions given by managers and collaborating with team members.
  • Drive Donation truck to pick up donations
  • Obey all traffic laws and posted road signs.
  • Pick-up donations from Wheeler drop-off sites and donors' homes.
  • Track all pick-ups and deliveries accurately.
  • Interact with donors in a courteous, professional, and Christian manner.
