About The Position

Join the Shambhala Music Festival Team as a Driver! Are you ready to leave your mark on the legendary Shambhala Music Festival? We are seeking skilled drivers to join our team and contribute to the success of this year's festival. There are several positions available from July 17 to 31st, with various schedules (both short-term and long-term) on the festival site near Salmo, BC.

Requirements

  • Valid class 1-5 license with a clean driving abstract; air brakes endorsement and Class 2-4 licenses are highly desirable.
  • Ability to drive standard (manual) transmissions is an asset.
  • Experience in driving large vehicles, towing trailers, and operating machinery preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs consistently.
  • Strong work ethic and basic mechanical knowledge.
  • Demonstrates caution and discretion while operating festival equipment.
  • Comfortable working early mornings, outdoors, and in potentially unfavourable weather conditions while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the festival’s organizational structure.
  • Able to work in diverse cultural environments without bias.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude in a constantly changing and challenging environment, boosting team morale.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting potential issues and making recommendations for increased efficiency.
  • Flexible and responsive to changes in working conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide reliable transportation services, including shuttle bus driving, long-haul driving, in-town driving, and on-site driving.
  • Operate vehicles safely and efficiently, including those requiring air brakes endorsement, Class 1-3 licenses, and standard (manual) transmissions.
  • Tow trailers as needed and ensure all loads are secure and transported safely.
  • Complete all necessary training related to your role.
  • Maintain accurate records and daily logs of work hours and tasks performed.
  • Adhere to Shambhala Music Festival’s Occupational Health and Safety program, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with festival departments to support their transportation needs during showtime.
  • Conduct daily checks of all vehicles and equipment before operation.
  • Provide assistance with loading and unloading of materials and equipment.
  • Ensure the festival site remains organized, free of clutter, and safe for all patrons and staff.
  • Adapt to other team/department needs as required.
