About The Position

Drivers are responsible for safely transporting and transferring merchandise from the corporate warehouse to individual showroom stores, while also supporting daily warehouse operations. This role involves organizing stores’ warehouse or backroom areas and assisting in setting up showroom bed displays. The position ensures timely deliveries, accurate inventory handling, and efficient loading and unloading of materials. The driver may also pick up merchandise from vendors or deliver merchandise to customers.

Requirements

Must be fluent in English so as to communicate with others both in writing and verbally.
Valid California Driver’s License (with clean driving record)
3-5 years’ experience with driving bobtail trucks and any commercial vehicle
Maintain a good driving record with no moving or reckless violations.
High school diploma required
California Class A and C license

Responsibilities

Receives instructions for the day’s transfer truck deliveries (delivers between Sit ‘n Sleep’s showroom stores) and paperwork outlining the merchandise to be transferred from corporate warehouse and stores receiving merchandise.
Unloads/loads merchandise to and from stores and uses lift-gate to load and offload.
Organizes the merchandise in the individual store floor and warehouse/backrooms and straightens these areas.
May move beds to different areas of the showroom floor while at the store.
May deliver and set up merchandise for guests.
Calls and picks up new merchandise from vendor’s business site.
Prepares product in stores to be returned to the Distribution Center or to be delivered to guests.
Sets up new stores and moves product on the floors.
Leads the driving team and is responsible for ensuring all tasks are completed in a timely manner.
Ensures accuracy of delivered and returned or picked up product.
Ensures stores are satisfied with tasks done at stores.
Ensures vehicles are in safe condition by performing vehicle inspection report daily.
Ensures company property and equipment are cleaned, organized, and safe.
Uses IPAD to enter and confirm information of product shipping, product being picked up, and for daily PIV and Vehicle inspections.
Loads and unloads incoming and outgoing materials and products from vendors, and internal and external delivery trucks.
Moves materials to and from loading docks, delivery trucks, storage areas, and inspects areas to racks and other areas of the DC.
Receives product correctly into company inventory via scanner.
Puts away product timely and accurately via scanner.
Receives product from delivery and transfer trucks and attaches labels and paperwork to product, changes warehouse data in warehouse management system and in Dispatch Track.
Inspects product and sanitizes them and ensures they are in saleable condition.
Inspects product and decompresses/repairs/touches up to ensure in saleable condition.
Performs and reports cycle counts.
Accompanies drivers to make deliveries and pickups to customers, stores, and vendors.
Complies with all warehouse safety rules and guidelines.
Operates trucks, forklifts, and other PIV equipment to move freight.
Completes a PIV inspection checklist daily.
Ensures all areas of the Distribution Center are clean and organized and product is safely and securely stored.
Disposes of obsolete or damaged product in proper disposal dumpsters/trash cans.
Picks and stages product for shipments for customers, delivery teams, and internal and external customers.
Processes orders for LTL and parcel shipments.
Meets company PPH standards for picking, inspect, and receiving departments.
Works Weekends, holidays, and different hours as workload dictates.
Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company's discretion.
