Requirements

  • Ability to operate forklifts or pallet jacks once authorized.
  • Ability to drive and operate a box truck safely and obey all signs, signals, and other traffic rules.

  • Experience working in Freight Forwarding or Transportation industry preferred.
  • Must have an acceptable MVR.
  • Must be familiar with state motor vehicle laws and FMCSA rules and regulations.
  • Must pass a FMCSA required medical exam.
  • Ability to meet the FMCSA’s requirements to speak and read English.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check.
  • Must be able to drive all routes and in all types of terrain, including, but not limited to, mountains, steeply inclined roads, curvy highways, desert areas, bridges, tunnels, etc.
  • Must be able to drive in a wide range of environmental conditions, including, but not limited to, rain, wind, snow, freezing temperatures, hot weather, etc.
  • Must be able to operate all safety and operational functions of equipment, including, but not limited to, changing tires, driving manual transmission vehicles, etc.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 0-2 years of experience. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.
  • A valid Class B Commercial driver’s license is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safely drive a company box truck to retrieve and deliver orders locally.
  • Handle unloading, sorting, handling, and loading freight efficiently in accordance with verbal and written instructions, as well as Federal, State, and customer regulations.
  • Operate 26ft box truck safely.
  • Schedule and make all standing daily appointments.
  • Make internal transfer loads locally as needed.
  • Make alternate customer pickup and deliveries as needed.
  • Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, or delivery vehicles or containers by hand or using forklifts, trucks, tractors, or other equipment.
  • Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
  • Control and maintain all records required for accurate, on-time completion of shipments.
  • Work independently and in a team environment to accomplish work assignments.
  • Support and promote company core values.
  • Operate all types of equipment to perform all safety functions, including, but not limited to, operating manual transmission, chaining tires, etc., and must be skilled and qualified to drive in all types of terrain, routes, and environmental conditions.
  • Comply with all requirements for safe and legal transportation of materials.
  • Adhere to all FMCSA requirements of those holding a Commercial Driver’s License.
  • Ensure security of equipment and cargo.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure safe working conditions of the truck prior to each trip and at the end of each trip.
  • Check gauges and visual indicators for malfunctions, ensure seal or lock on trucks, and conducts inspection of vehicles before and during trips to determine problems that may be occurring.
  • Promptly report all maintenance problems to management.
  • Verify unit numbers versus paperwork given and report any discrepancies to your supervisor.
  • May be required to drive different schedules and work the dock based on business needs.
  • Provide professional and courteous service to our customers and the general public.
  • Safely operate a Non-CDL Box Truck in the transportation of freight in accordance with Company, Federal, State, and Local laws with regard to run times and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations.
  • Regular attendance is required.
  • Assist where needed based on business requirements: Dock work to include loading/unloading freight and customer site loading/unloading freight.
  • Comply with company C-TPAT and TSA security procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
