About The Position

The Specials Driver position supports day-to-day customer deliveries as well as some warehouse activities. The schedule for this position is 6:30 am to 3:00 pm. Republic & T.F. Ehrhart is a third-generation business and a leading wholesale distributor of electrical energy management, heating, air conditioning, hydronic and sign support systems. Requirements

High School diploma Required
1-2 years of driving experience required
Valid Class C Driver's License and a clean driving record
Good customer service skills
Energetic
Attention to detail
Technology proficient - able to use Microsoft products and delivery scanners and tablets.
Pass a D.O.T. physical
Able to pass a drug screen (If CDL)
Physically able to squat, bend and lift over 25-50 lbs. frequently
Ability to move large pieces of equipment using a dolly which requires pushing and pulling up to 150 pounds frequently
Ability to use a forklift
Ability to stand for long periods, use stairs frequently, walk on uneven surfaces
Manual dexterity is required

Nice To Haves

CDL preferred; not required
Ability to pull a flat bed trailer highly preferred

Responsibilities

Delivering customer orders that come in that day.
Pulling equipment and parts for orders.
Loading and unloading orders onto the truck.
Building the manifest (route plan or schedule).
Contacting customers and confirming order details.
Providing proof of delivery.
Taking care of the vehicle, keeping it clean, and loading items safely and securely.
Reporting any incidents of vehicle or product damage to the supervisor immediately.
Following the rules of the road and reporting any safety or driving infractions immediately.
Performing all pre-trip and post-trip inspections according to company policy.
Working with the Delivery Services Coordinator and Fleet Manager to ensure routine maintenance is completed when needed and proper documentation is delivered to the Fleet Manager.
Assisting in the warehouse to put items away after receiving is done, to re-stock unclaimed items, or pick orders for the next day.
Performing additional duties as assigned.
