Xylem is looking for a CDL Driver Technician to report to our Cartersville, GA location and support customer sites throughout the surrounding region. This role combines commercial driving responsibilities with hands-on technical service, providing a unique opportunity to work both on the road and in the field. What your day will look like as a CDL Driver Technician The CDL Driver Technician is responsible for safely operating DOT-regulated vehicles to transport equipment and materials to customer locations while also performing field service, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities. Depending on the assigned business unit, you may work with mechanical, electrical, diesel, fusion, or other specialized equipment. You will interact directly with customers, identify and resolve equipment issues, maintain a safe work environment, and ensure equipment is operating efficiently and reliably. Equipment-specific training will be provided, and we are willing to train motivated candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and a commitment to safety. This position offers a combination of driving, technical service work, and customer interaction, with opportunities to develop your skills across multiple technologies and job sites.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to obtain a Class A or B CDL with applicable endorsements
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Card
  • Clean driving record
  • Ability to obtain required customer clearances (TWIC, DISA, etc.)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport for cross-border travel, if required
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and smart devices
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and troubleshoot equipment issues in the field
  • Ability to identify and address potential safety concerns
  • Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, MVR review, and DOT physical

Nice To Haves

  • 0–2 years of technical or field service experience
  • Mechanical, electrical, diesel, fusion, or related technical experience
