About The Position

Coburn's Exclusive is a growing custom architectural metal fabrication shop in the Nashville area, specializing in custom doors, windows, storefronts, railings, and other custom metal pieces. We are seeking an experienced Driver / Shop Tech to manage deliveries and support shop operations. This role is crucial for ensuring timely deliveries, maintaining tools and equipment, managing materials, and contributing to a clean and organized shop environment. The Driver / Shop Tech will also assist personnel across all shop departments as needed.

Requirements

  • Authorization to work within the United States.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Reliable mode of transportation to and from work (including jobs not located at the shop).
  • Willingness and ability to learn.
  • Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used in service shops (fork-lifts, gradall, hydraulic lifts, etc).
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds as required without assistance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain professionalism in the workplace.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Must submit to a background check prior to receiving an offer of employment.

  • Experience as a driver.

Responsibilities

  • Loading and unloading products into Coburn’s Exclusive fleet vehicles and safely transporting them to their destination.
  • Assisting the fleet manager in the regular maintenance and overall cleanliness of company vehicles.
  • Ensuring each vehicle is clean and all delivery tools (straps, chains, blocking) are returned to their proper place after every delivery.
  • Working with the fleet manager to maintain the proper inventory of straps and other load retention tools.
  • Assisting with certain onsite activities and/or the installation team when required.
  • Working with the tool director and project management to deliver and pick up necessary tools for onsite work.
  • Executing the delivery of well-organized shipments of materials, equipment, and supplies to meet project needs, on-time and in accordance with project schedules.
  • Assisting with the inspection, repair (as needed), and return of items to inventory upon return from project sites.
  • Communicating with appropriate personnel when tools, equipment, or supplies are damaged or lost.
  • Assisting with general shop housekeeping, including trash removal, floor sweeping, and organizing.
  • Assisting maintenance personnel in the upkeep of grounds and facilities, including the management of scrap materials.
  • Working to ensure production goals are met by following standard processes, maintaining quality standards, meeting deadlines, and upholding safety regulations.
  • Participating in all requested job-related training and development, and taking an active interest in improving skills.
  • Following all company and common sense safety policies, and using all required personal protective equipment.
  • Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
  • Ensuring all company values are adhered to and promoted through leading by example and creating an environment of trust and teamwork.
