About The Position

The regional drayage driver completes regional over-the-road container deliveries with consistent home time, prioritizing safety, efficiency, and professionalism. Operates semi-tractor trailers on regional over-the-road drayage routes. Drives in compliance with Hours of Service regulations, operating up to 11 hours following a minimum of 10 consecutive hours off duty. Performs local pickup and delivery (P&D) as assigned. Backs trailers safely and accurately to customer docks, ports, rail yards, and designated locations. Maintains full compliance with all Federal, State, and DOT safety regulations, demonstrating safe and professional driving behavior at all times. Communicates professionally, courteously, and effectively with customers, dispatchers, and company representatives. Coordinates loads, schedules, and routing with dispatch to ensure timely and efficient deliveries. Secures containerized and/or palletized freight properly, ensuring correct arrangement and balance of cargo. Conducts pre-trip and post-trip inspections and ensures mechanical issues are addressed prior to vehicle operation. Complies with all DOT requirements, including participation in random and reasonable-suspicion drug and alcohol testing programs. Performs additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • CDL A License Required
  • Current TWIC card required
  • A minimum of 2 years CDL A driving experience within the last 4 years.
  • Meet D.O.T. qualification requirements, FMCSR 391.41.
  • Experience in load securement, route planning, and navigating various road conditions.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to handle sensitive cargo with care.
  • Detail-oriented / mindset required.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years CDL A driving experience preferred.
