About The Position

The Driver Processing & Onboarding Specialist plays a critical supporting role in Roadrunner’s growth engine. While recruiters focus on attracting and closing high-quality owner-operators, this role owns the precision work that turns accepted candidates into productive, retained drivers. Success means clean, fast processing, seamless handoffs, and early-tenure support that protects both hiring velocity and long-term retention. This position sits at the intersection of compliance processing and onboarding execution. You will maintain rigorous documentation standards, eliminate friction between recruiting, Safety, and Orientation, and help ensure every new driver starts strong. By building depth in these functions, you free the recruiting team to stay focused on pipeline and closing while strengthening overall operational reliability.

  • Strong organizational discipline, attention to detail, and follow-through under time pressure.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, track deadlines, and maintain accurate real-time system updates.
  • Clear, professional communication skills—comfortable working with candidates, recruiters, and cross-functional partners by phone and email.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, process-driven environment while identifying opportunities to improve workflows.
  • Willingness to learn Roadrunner’s specific compliance and onboarding standards is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Own driver processing with accuracy and urgency: Manage the complete post-offer processing workflow, including collection, verification, and organization of all required compliance documentation. Review and process MVR, PSP, Clearinghouse, background, and related consumer reports; flag issues early and escalate appropriately. Maintain real-time accuracy in Tenstreet and related systems so pipeline status and compliance visibility remain current for the entire team. Prioritize processing queues based on start dates, business demand, and risk level.
  • Drive clean, timely onboarding coordination: Partner closely with Safety, Orientation, Fleet, and recruiting teams to eliminate bottlenecks and keep drivers moving toward orientation without delay. Communicate required documents and next steps clearly to candidates; follow up persistently while maintaining a professional, supportive tone. Track outstanding items, resolve discrepancies, and ensure every file is complete and audit-ready before orientation. Support orientation logistics and early-tenure check-ins that reinforce expectations and reduce early turnover.
  • Maintain operational excellence in systems and data: Update applicant and new-hire records, notes, and statuses in the ATS/CRM with precision and in real time. Support reporting accuracy and pipeline health visibility for recruiting leadership and cross-functional partners. Identify recurring process friction points and recommend practical improvements. Uphold strict adherence to established workflows, compliance standards, and data integrity requirements.

Stay engaged through the onboarding window to address concerns early and support a successful start. Help create a consistent, professional candidate and new-hire experience that reflects Roadrunner’s culture of safety, professionalism, and performance.
  • Build bench strength for the recruiting function: Serve as a reliable backup for high-volume processing and onboarding support during peak hiring periods.
