Palm Point Behavioral Health (affiliated with Universal Health Services) is a 74-bed behavioral health hospital located in Titusville, Florida. Palm Point Behavioral Health treats adults, children and adolescents suffering from a wide range of behavioral health diagnoses including depression, anxiety, and substance abuse in a modern and well-appointed facility. Palm Point behavioral health offers inpatient treatment options and serves communities in Brevard County and beyond. This role is for a Driver/transporter who will be responsible for transporting patients to and from the facility, ensuring vehicles are in proper working order and clean, providing high-quality non-medical patient care and ambulatory transportation while delivering exceptional customer service. The Driver/Transporter is responsible for ensuring that safety remains the highest priority throughout the transportation continuum. This role involves coordinating patient pick-up and drop-off routes, completing daily mileage logs, ensuring all safety measures are adhered to in the vehicle, and maintaining the vehicle and equipment in a clean, organized, and ready condition after each transport. The driver will also ensure proper fuel, fluid, and tire pressure levels at all times, report equipment damage or malfunctions to the Director of Plant Operations, and assist with duties in the Maintenance Department as requested. The position requires adherence to the dress code policy, completion of mandatory training and competencies, and following time and attendance requirements. The driver must adhere to all applicable Federal and State laws, regulations, and requirements, as well as Facility policies and procedures. Flexibility and adaptability are needed to meet the needs of patients and the department, utilizing effective communication skills for timely reporting of pertinent information. All documentation and reporting must be clear, concise, and timely, using appropriate terminology. The role also contributes to performance improvement and quality improvement initiatives and identifies needs for professional growth. Physical demands include standing, sitting, or walking for periods up to 4 hours, hearing the spoken word, responding to signals and alarms, recognizing vocal intonation changes, bending, reaching, stooping, writing legibly, reading instructions, completing reports, performing activities requiring manual dexterity, and lifting up to 30 lbs. Customers served include children (ages 5-12), adolescents (ages 13-17), and adults (ages 18+), as well as patients, families, direct care providers, regulatory/licensing agencies, referral sources, and the community.
