This position is responsible for the safe transport of materials to and from our process vendors. The Driver will utilize a box truck or suitable SIG SAUER vehicle, pallet jack and or fork truck to load and unload materials for processing. The Driver will be responsible for performing quality checks and counts while at the vendor. The Driver will be responsible for learning the OSP Technician function so that they are able to perform in this position while not performing the responsibilities of a Driver.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required, related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Possesses valid driver’s license with acceptable drivers record.
  • Typically requires 5 years of experience driving box truck.
  • Must be capable of passing DOT physical.
  • Must be able to convey ideas and information clearly, concisely, and accurately to others, in both verbally and in written form.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience driving large vehicles a plus.
  • CDL is not required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a clean vehicle, and monitors the vehicles maintenance schedule.
  • Assures that all safety requirements are met to meet DOT guidelines.
  • Follows laws pertaining to the removal of snow, and ice from the top of the vehicle.
  • Assures that loads are positioned, and or strapped as to be stable during transport.
  • Performs quality inspections, and verifies counts at the vendor as instructed.
  • If driving duties are not required, the driver will assist in the OSP area as assigned.
  • Participate in and sustain 5S Standards.
  • Must follow all required safety, and ISO procedures.
  • Regular on-site attendance, and punctuality is a necessary function of this position.
  • May be required to work in other functional areas and/or facilities depending on business needs.
  • May be required to work overtime or alternate shifts based on business needs.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
