About The Position

Ryder is hiring a NON-CDL Truck Driver in Edgewood, NY, offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a fulfilling driving career. The position pays $24.00 per hour, with an expected 40-50 hours per week, totaling $1140 or more weekly. The schedule is Monday through Friday, starting at 5:00 AM, with no weekends. Drivers will operate a 26' Box Truck, delivering solo within a 250-mile radius of Edgewood, NY, including the 5 Boroughs. The role involves handling freight such as windows and doors, utilizing a dolly and door cart. Ryder provides modern trucks (36 months or newer) with 24/7 Roadside Maintenance, and company drivers can fuel up at over 800 maintenance facilities nationwide. Ryder also supports individuals interested in becoming Company Drivers by assisting with truck purchases and providing ongoing support.

Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Minimum of 6 months of verifiable driving experience
  • Pass a Ryder Drug Test
  • Must have verifiable driving experience (must be in like equipment if position being applied for is operating a straight truck or box truck): 6 Months experience in the past 3 years, OR 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
  • Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass a Ryder road test
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
  • Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned

Responsibilities

  • Safely driving a vehicle within and requires compliance with safety regulations, continuous training and customer service
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
  • Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
  • Maintaining accurate records
  • Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
  • Other tasks as assigned
