About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class a NON CDL Truck Driver in Tustin, CA. This position offers weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career. Drivers can expect to earn $840 or more per week, with an hourly pay of $21.00 for 40 hours per week. The schedule is Wednesday - Sunday, starting at 7:00 am for 8 hours per shift, with mandatory overtime as needed. The role involves delivering solo to Orange County on local home daily routes using a Straight Truck (26' Box Truck). Equipment includes a Pallet Jack, Hand Truck, and Lift Gates, with training provided. The freight involves touch freight of donated goods. Drivers must be able to drive both manual and automatic trucks. Ryder's trucks are 36 months or newer, include 24/7 Roadside Maintenance, and company drivers fuel up at over 800 Maintenance Facilities Nationwide. Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Minimum of 6 months of verifiable driving experience
  • Pass a Ryder Drug Test
  • Must have verifiable driving experience (must be in like equipment if position being applied for is operating a straight truck or box truck): 6 Months experience in the past 3 years, OR 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
  • Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass a Ryder road test
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
  • Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned

Responsibilities

  • Safely driving a vehicle within and requiring compliance with safety regulations, continuous training and customer service
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
  • Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
  • Maintaining accurate records
  • Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
  • Other tasks as assigned
