About The Position

Ryder is hiring a NON CDL Truck Driver in Edgewood, NY, offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career. This position involves delivering SOLO within a 250-mile radius of Edgewood NY, including the 5 Burroughs, using a 26' Box Truck. The freight consists of Windows & Doors, requiring touch freight. Trucks are 36 months or newer, include 24/7 Roadside Maintenance, and Company Drivers fuel up at over 800 Maintenance Facilities Nationwide. Requirements

Minimum 21 years of age
Minimum of 6 months of verifiable driving experience
Pass a Ryder Drug Test
Must have verifiable driving experience (must be in like equipment if position being applied for is operating a straight truck or box truck): 6 Months experience in the past 3 years, OR 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
Pass a DOT physical
Pass a Ryder road test
Must have a valid driver’s license
Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Responsibilities

safely driving a vehicle within and requires compliance with safety regulations, continuous training and customer service
Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
Maintaining accurate records
Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
Other tasks as assigned

Hourly Pay: $24.00 Per Hour
