About The Position

This is a part-time position during the Academic Year (August - May), with a maximum of 20 hours per week, paying $15 per hour. The role involves driving a light vehicle, such as a car, truck, or van (capacity under 26,000 pounds GVW), to transport residents of Lions Gate to and from the residence hall and local shopping centers. Driving duties are primarily on Friday evenings and during the day on Saturdays and Sundays.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years or older.
• Requires the ability to work in an outdoor environment in adverse weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.
• Requires a valid driver’s license.
• Successful completion of a motor vehicle records check.
• PA State Police Criminal Background Check.
• PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form.
• Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicle to transport passengers, load and unload, as required.
• Operate radio system to communicate with dispatcher or other drivers; receive orders and follow as directed.
• Perform general housekeeping duties to keep vans clean and habitable on the inside; clean windshield and rear-view mirror(s) as needed.
• Read and record odometer readings as assigned.
• Check general operation of vehicles daily, such as fuel level, tire pressure, headlights, turn signals, emergency and stop flashing lights, doors, windshield, wipers, horn, etc.
• Report malfunctions and/or needed repairs.
• Provide customer service to passengers such as greeting, providing direction, and loading/unloading bags.
