About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in City, State — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about. This position offers a guaranteed 40 hours per week with paid training. The schedule is Monday through Friday, starting at 5:00 AM, with no weekends. Drivers will operate a Straight Truck and Glass Truck 26' and will be trained on all necessary equipment, including an Electric Pallet Jack, Hand Truck, J-Bar, Door hand Truck, and Liftgate. The freight involves touching Glass Doors and Mirrors. Ryder trucks are well-maintained, safe, 36 months or newer, with 24/7 Roadside Maintenance and fueling at over 800 nationwide maintenance locations. Drivers are considered the Captain, with protected jobs and the authority to make safety decisions. Ryder also supports owner-operators transitioning to company drivers. Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Minimum of 6 months of verifiable driving experience
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Must have verifiable driving experience (must be in like equipment if position being applied for is operating a straight truck or box truck): 6 Months experience in the past 3 years, OR 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
• Candidates who possess a valid Commercial Drivers License will be subject to FMCSA requirements, including but not limited to, pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse query.

Responsibilities

• Safely driving a vehicle within and requires compliance with safety regulations, continuous training and customer service.
• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
• Maintaining accurate records
• Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
• Other tasks as assigned
