About The Position

Ryder is hiring a NON-CDL Truck Driver in Edgewood, NY — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about. This position offers a starting pay of $1140 or more per week, with weekly pay. The driver will work approximately 40-50 hours per week on a Monday-Friday schedule with a 5:00 AM start time. Paid training is provided. The role involves delivering SOLO within a 250-mile radius of Edgewood, NY, including the 5 Boroughs, and is a Home Daily route. The truck type is a 26' Box Truck, and equipment includes a Dolly and Door Cart. The freight is touch freight, specifically windows and doors. Ryder drivers operate well-maintained, safe trucks, 36 months or newer, with 24/7 Roadside Maintenance and fueling at over 800 nationwide maintenance locations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Minimum of 6 months of verifiable driving experience
  • Pass a Ryder Drug Test
  • Must have verifiable driving experience (must be in like equipment if position being applied for is operating a straight truck or box truck): 6 Months experience in the past 3 years, OR 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
  • Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass a Ryder road test
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Responsibilities

  • Safely driving a vehicle within and requires compliance with safety regulations, continuous training and customer service.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
  • Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
  • Maintaining accurate records
  • Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
  • Other tasks as assigned
