This position is responsible for loading, transporting, and delivering materials to customer sites, ensuring adherence to driver safety and compliance regulations. The role involves delivering undamaged goods on schedule and providing professional service to customers. As a Non-CDL driver, the individual will operate vehicles weighing between 10,001 and 26,000 pounds. Key aspects include safely and accurately unloading materials at delivery sites, taking precautions to protect products and customer property, and verifying order details against invoices. The driver will maintain logs of delivery duties, including item amounts/weights, mileage, and delivery locations. This role also acts as a customer service liaison between BFS and the site customer, handling concerns and resolving issues. Responsibilities extend to maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of delivery vehicles, performing routine safety checks, and ensuring compliance with company guidelines. The use of handheld devices (when not driving) is required for DVIR and HOS compliance, along with maintaining hours of service logs and pre/post trip inspection procedures. The position may also involve performing credit/product return pick-ups and related paperwork, and operating forklifts or non-motorized material handling equipment for loading and offloading materials. A strong understanding and observance of all safety procedures and practices are essential to prevent injury, with attendance at periodic safety meetings required.
