About The Position

The Part-Time Driver-Meals delivers and safely transports home-delivered meals to assigned clients and sites while conducting senior well-being checks, maintaining accurate documentation, ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation standards, reporting concerns or incidents, assisting with meal preparation and loading activities, and supporting team operations through collaboration and continuous learning.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • 1-3 years relevant experience
  • Safe driving skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Efficiently manages time and works well with others.
  • Driver's license
  • Automobile insurance

  • DMV check

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's Degree (AA) in a related field of study
  • 3-5 years relevant experience
  • Prior experience in food delivery

Responsibilities

  • Ensure effective and efficient delivery of meals to clients/sites assigned to Home Delivered Meals Program in accordance to the route sheet.
  • Assist with the packaging of meals and supplies.
  • Assist with loading/unloading of meals to the delivery vehicles.
  • Conduct well-being checks on seniors when delivering meals.
  • Ensure all meals are handled and delivered in accordance of organization/programmatic policies and procedures, professional standards and external requirements of all relevant regulatory licensing or accrediting bodies.
  • Immediately reports any observed changes in seniors' physical or mental status to the required staff per department expectations.
  • Notify required management, in a timely manner, of any incidents, accidents, maintenance issues, vehicle malfunctions or circumstances that need attention.
  • Reviews route sheet daily to verify if any new clients were received or removed from route or route changes.
  • Completes and maintains driver vehicle logs and client/site documentation in accordance of organization/programmatic policies and procedures, professional standards, and external requirements of all relevant regulatory, licensing or accrediting bodies.
  • Assist co-workers in any of their responsibilities if requested/needed.
  • Attend meetings as required by leadership.
  • Operates vehicles safely, checks fuel levels, lights, obeys traffic laws and follows standard safety procedures.
  • Follows Sanitation procedures regarding cleanliness of vehicles to comply with organization/programmatic policy standards.
  • Engage in ongoing learning, training, and skill development, seeking and applying feedback to continuously improve performance and contribute to team and organizational success.
