About The Position

Performs all duties relating to the transportation of ambulatory and / or wheelchair bound individuals in accordance with department and system policies and procedures and standards. Can function also in other positions such as Discharge Liaison and back-up Dispatch. All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's purpose: Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference. Verify operational readiness of vehicle(s) and equipment. Maintain cleanliness of vehicle(s), both inside and outside. Responds promptly to calls received from the Dispatch Center. Operate vehicle(s) in a safe, courteous and efficient manner, focusing on safety and following state driving laws. Interact in an appropriate manner with the individual begin transported, member of their family and other health professionals. Prepare written documentation in a complete, timely and accurate manner. Attends staff meetings, complies with employee health requirements and completed mandatory employee training programs. Operate as a driver on an ambulance team as needed to meet volume demands. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent OR post-high school diploma / highest degree earned
  • No experience required.
  • A valid driver’s license
  • an acceptable motor vehicle record, as defined by the Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Chart.
