About The Position

This position will obtain packaging equipment and materials and deliver items to customers. It involves planning truck routes for economical use of time and equipment, performing routine vehicle inspections, and maintaining a clean truck and work area. The role requires adherence to safety and security standards, accurate recording of material movements, and assisting with receiving, managing paperwork, counting, tagging, and putting away materials in the warehouse. Efficiency, teamwork, and maintaining a specified housekeeping zone are also key aspects of this role. The position also requires completing all required continuous learning training, including safety, compliance, and job-specific modules.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving, with proven skills for safely operating various trucks.
  • Solid performance record of truck driving.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean MVR over the last 7 years.
  • Experience with sit-down forklift, and pallet jacks required, with an excellent safety record.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers, employees, supervisors, and the public.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to follow specific written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to make independent judgments which have moderate impact on the organization.
  • Detail-oriented, checks own work and corrects mistakes made.
  • Extremely careful when identifying material.
  • Good to excellent attendance record.
  • Trustworthy.
  • Can work with minimal supervision.
  • Displays good teamwork – works well with small groups.
  • Jumps in and helps others when needed.
  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
  • Three (3) years of relevant logistics experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to do the job well.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with using PC and applications, warehouse management systems, wireless forklift computer systems, and scanners preferred.
  • CDLA preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain packaging equipment and materials and deliver items to customers.
  • Plan truck routes to ensure the most economical use of time and equipment.
  • Perform routine inspections on assigned vehicles and report defects or repairs to the supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean truck, cab, and freight areas.
  • Perform all duties in conformance with appropriate safety and security standards.
  • Move materials safely, accurately, and promptly within the warehouse and trucks; accurately record all material movements on move sheets and/or wireless computer system on forklifts (when installed).
  • Regularly assist with receiving materials, managing paperwork, counting material, tagging material, and putting material away in the warehouse when needed.
  • Make efficient use of time to maximize output and assist others when necessary.
  • Maintain specified housekeeping zone and operate all equipment in a safe manner.
  • Complete all required continuous learning training, including safety, compliance, and job-specific.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
