About The Position

Ashley Furniture is seeking an experienced Driver Manager to oversee part of our regional fleet drivers. This position is responsible for managing drivers and ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient daily operations for our private fleet. The Driver Manager will handle driver performance monitoring, driver and asset utilization, payroll administration, and dispatch operations.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years in fleet management or transportation operations, preferably with local delivery services
  • Proven ability to manage, motivate, and develop driver teams
  • Experience with payroll processing and time tracking systems
  • Hands-on experience with dispatch operations and route planning
  • Understanding of DOT regulations, safety compliance, and driver qualification requirements
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with fleet management software, dispatch systems, and Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage daily dispatch operations to ensure timely and efficient service
  • Plan, optimize, and oversee routes to maximize efficiency and service quality
  • Manage and supervise drivers, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and company standards
  • Track and evaluate driver performance, conduct regular assessments, and provide coaching and feedback
  • Measure and monitor driver performance making sure we are fully utilizing our fleet to capacity
  • Process and manage driver payroll, including hours tracking, overtime, and compensation accuracy
  • Create and maintain driver schedules, manage time-off requests, and ensure adequate coverage
  • Maintain accurate records of routes, driver hours, vehicle logs, and incident reports
  • Ensure all drivers maintain proper licensing and meet regulatory requirements
  • Promote and enforce safety standards, conduct safety meetings, and implement corrective actions
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, document findings, and implement preventive measures
  • Monitor vehicle inspections, maintenance schedules, and coordinate necessary repairs
  • Address service-related concerns and maintain high satisfaction levels
