About The Position

The Driver Manager is responsible for leading transportation and driver operations while ensuring full compliance with DOT regulations, company policies, and safety standards. This role oversees company-owned and leased equipment, driver performance, yard and terminal operations, and coordination with internal and external partners to ensure timely, safe, and cost-effective delivery of goods. The Driver Manager plays a critical role in maintaining regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and a high-performing driver workforce.

Requirements

  • Deep working knowledge of DOT rules, Hours of Service (HOS), and transportation regulations.
  • Ability to ensure continuous driver, equipment, and operational compliance.
  • Experience managing audits, compliance issues, and corrective action plans.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and transportation-related systems.
  • Experience using ELD systems, video safety software, and other fleet management tools.
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience (10+ years of CDL or transportation experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
  • Previous supervisory or management experience in transportation, logistics, or fleet operations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of DOT HOS rules and transportation regulations.
  • Working knowledge of geographic service areas and route planning.
  • Understanding of labor laws and company policy compliance.

  • Coordinating maintenance for company-owned equipment and leased assets.
  • Managing trucking terminal operations, dispatching concepts, and yard management.
  • Planning routes, scheduling, and managing vehicle movement across locations.
  • Meeting shipping timelines and delivery requirements.
  • Coordinating inter-store transfer (IST) schedules with shipping and store operations.
  • Coordinating with third-party vendors to ensure equipment availability and service levels.
  • Managing outsourced lease and maintenance obligations.
  • Recruiting, hiring, training, evaluating, and developing drivers.
  • Handling performance management, promotions, and corrective actions.
  • Managing payroll processing, employee reviews, and labor-related matters.
  • Managing transportation costs while maintaining service quality.
  • Improving logistics efficiency and operational workflows.
