About The Position

The Driver Manager is responsible for overseeing a team of drivers, ensuring efficient operations, and maintaining compliance with safety regulations. This role involves load planning, managing driver schedules and needs, communicating customer requirements, and processing necessary paperwork for payroll and billing. The Driver Manager also plays a key role in equipment management, maximizing asset utilization, and fostering driver and customer retention. Additionally, the position requires adherence to food safety and quality plan requirements.

Requirements

2 years previous transportation experience
Computer skills, typing, AS400, excel, word
Dispatch experience
Customer service
Interpersonal skills
DOT rules and regulations
Mapping and routing

Responsibilities

Load planning
Ensure all DOT safety rules and hours of service policies are followed
Facilitate driver home time needs and requirements
Communicate all customer requirements
Manage drivers for on-time deliveries
Process drivers load information and paperwork for payroll and billing functions
Update billing requirements
Process lumper requests
Route and guide drivers on approved roads
Update directions on customers loads
Equipment management
Coordinate vehicle maintenance appointments
Maximize company asset utilization
Manage driver and customer retention
Direct and manage drivers to approved fuelling locations and manage Comdata fuel card maintenance
Manage and issue cash advances for roads expenses as needed
Responsible for monitoring, record keeping and taking appropriate actions for specific Food Safety Plan and Food Quality Plan and pre requisite program requirements
Responsible to report food safety and quality issues to management
