The Driver Manager is responsible for communicating all pertinent freight information to drivers in a region of assigned responsibility. Supervise and maintain equipment providing load capacity. Work directly with internal employees and manage expectations against operational capabilities. Employ a strategic approach by problem solving and develop corrective actions to enhance operational performance.

Requirements

Experienced in the movement of freight and driver relations.
Consistently able to facilitate multiple projects and remain productive under pressure.
Experience in managing and coaching others.
Troubleshooting any issues with a driver pick up or delivery to ensure proper freight delivery.
Coordinating with operational staff in order to receive maximum productivity from drivers while operating within DOT, OSHA and other company safety departments.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers.
Ability to confront and resolve performance or service issues with drivers and customers effectively.
2 years related experience.
Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
Fleet management experience.
Strong analysis and decision-making skills.
Superior customer service skills.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred to effectively communicate with a diverse driver workforce.
Familiarization with DOT and OSHA rules and regulations is a plus.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the supervision and management of a fleet of drivers, to assure proper and timely loading and delivery of products to customers.
Assurance of DOT compliance and administration of all reporting procedures and enforce all company policies and procedures.
Responsible for fleet efficiency including driver productivity, miles, legal HOS, operation, availability, customer service and pre-planning performance.
Assist with development of programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the driver workforce.
Interaction with outside freight vendors and coordination of scheduling requirements.
Build relationships, solve issues, and assist customers and drivers with their individual needs.
Local travel will be required 20% of the time.
