About The Position

The Driver LPCT is responsible for coordinating, tracking, and documenting the movement and status of work-in-progress inventory. This role ensures the timely and accurate movement of parts through the manufacturing process by transporting them between departments and maintaining up-to-date records in the tracking system. The position also involves maintaining quality records, reports, invoices, and packing slips to support documentation requirements.

Requirements

  • Previous manufacturing floor experience or dispatching experience affording knowledge of the importance of part location tracking is preferred.
  • Previous data entry and inventory control experience preferred.
  • Basic ability to follow instructions, read, write, and perform arithmetic calculations.
  • Ability to attend to detail, resolve record keeping problems and work independently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others.
  • Ability to safely lift and/or maneuver objects weighing thirty to fifty pounds and occasionally up to seventy-five pounds.
  • Ability to work in difficult working conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, temperature extremes and other elements for extended periods of time.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Ability to drive a truck (up to 26,000 LBS GVW).

Nice To Haves

  • PCC's Fork Lift Driving Safety Certification Training must be completed.
  • Training in Materials Resource Planning computerized inventory control systems.
  • May be required to complete Hazardous Waste Management Training.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, track, and document the movement, status, and location of work-in-progress inventory.
  • Transport and track parts from one department to another to ensure accurate and timely movement through the manufacturing process.
  • Move parts within available process span time and respond to production needs.
  • Maintain quality records, reports, invoices, and packing slips to support quality documentation requirements.
  • Verify and match part lots with paperwork, routing information, serial numbers, and quantities before transporting.
  • Ensure completion of necessary signoffs on work completion and/or routing information before transporting lots.
  • Reconcile problems regarding paperwork/part inaccuracies with Leads and ensure communication among production departments related to product movement.
  • Follow routers and move parts by hand, pallet jack, and forklift.
  • Coordinate loading and unloading of product to and from Division service centers.
  • Update computerized inventory control system to reflect locations of parts.
  • Make computer entries to update inventory, scheduling, and location of parts.
  • Process the addition and/or re-sequencing of processes as submitted by engineering.
  • Enter transaction codes on all lot movements.
  • Reconcile inventory system information and ensure accurate accounting of part lot numbers.
  • Dispatch 'rush' jobs as requested and track parts.
  • Complete daily cycle counts, check sample lots for quantity, identification numbers, and location.
  • Maintain neat and organized work areas, including cleaning floors, sweeping aisles, and keeping aisles free of parts and pallets.
  • Adhere to plant and department safety rules.
  • Safely operate all equipment and tools.
  • Identify and report safety problems.
  • Complete logs and records.
  • Perform other tasks as directed.
