About The Position

Experienced CDL Class B Driver that provides recycling collection services to customers in a courteous and timely manner.

Requirements

  • Must be willing and able to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Reliable and excellent attendance.
  • Self-starter, maintaining performance standards while working unsupervised.
  • Displays friendly, helpful customer service with the public.
  • Must abstain from using illegal drugs and abuse of alcohol.
  • Valid Class B CDL with Airbrake endorsement.
  • Ability to obtain Forklift Certification, for certain positions.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Read/write simple instruction, simple business reports, or memos.
  • Communicate clearly with coworkers, vendors, customers and management team.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend and twist from the waist and knees; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch and talk or hear.
  • Must be able to push, pull, lift, load, unload, and carry up to 50lbs of recycling materials at the customer and workplace.
  • Must be able frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds of paper, cardboard and other recycling.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, color vision and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

  • High School diploma or GED, preferred.
  • One to three months related experience or training, preferred.
  • Fork Lift Certification

Responsibilities

  • Operate company vehicles in a safe manner, obeying all traffic laws and company policies
  • Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner, as a representative of Key Works
  • Ensure accuracy of all documentation for all prepared loads
  • Load and unload trucks daily and ensure safe organization of supplies
  • Complete pre and post trip inspection and documentation of vehicle condition daily
  • Report on mechanical problems for the attention of the Route Manager and/or Maintenance Manager
  • Maintain daily route sheets and route boxes according to company standards and state and federal regulations
  • Perform emergency minor roadside repairs such as installing light bulbs and tire chains
  • Attend meetings, workshops, etc. as designated by the Route Manager
  • Advise work therapy clients of safety protocols and professional standards of conduct, if applicable
  • Perform work on weekends and evenings as needed to meet applicable deadlines
  • Other duties as assigned
