About The Position

The Equipment Delivery Driver I is responsible for driving a class 6 open-deck truck with the capacity of up to 12,000 pounds to transport machinery and materials to and from specified destinations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one (1) year related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively with tools and equipment.
  • Must be able to make accurate independent decisions, perform duties and make judgments in a timely manner.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions, short correspondences, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed buy uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Must be able to driver for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to operate all construction equipment being delivered.
  • Must pass work related pre-employment physical.
  • Successfully complete Work Steps assessment.
  • Must be flexible in work schedule.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving required.
  • Must be 21 or older.

Responsibilities

  • Drive an open-deck haul truck with 2-axles.
  • Haul machines that weigh up to 12,000 pounds in high traffic or congested city zones and small areas in accordance to all city, state, federal and company policies, procedures and/or regulations.
  • Receive dispatches, load and secure equipment, transport equipment and effectively report the status of all loads through our technology devices.
  • Properly and effectively conduct pre and post trip inspections and report any deficiencies through the driver-vehicle inspection report.
  • Ensure that all cargo is secure according to FMCSA and Warren CAT requirements.
  • Operate all construction equipment.
  • Maintain electronic log, according to state and federal regulations.
  • Maintain communication with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding customers and store operations.
  • Work with customers and vendors frequently.
  • Assist with Yard duties.
